Inspired by the struggles of the homeless, Nomad Nest is a portable, weatherproof tent designed to provide warmth, safety, and mobility. Taking cues from nature, it mimics a snail’s shell—compact, protective, and easy to carry. The design integrates foldable aluminum poles, layered insulation, and ventilation features, ensuring comfort and practicality for those in need.
The final prototype balances functionality with dignity, offering a personal refuge that seamlessly blends into urban environments. The tent’s lightweight, collapsible structure allows for easy transportation, while its layered materials provide durability and insulation. Through this project, I aimed to address the immediate shelter needs of the homeless while fostering a design that promotes security, comfort, and independence.
